About this piece

Luna started as a single sketched crescent and grew into a layered piece that catches the morning light over a cot.

Every knot is tied by hand in undyed cotton so the piece softens and relaxes into shape as it hangs.

How it was made

  1. Pattern draft

Knot map sketched to scale on grid paper.

  2. Knotting

Roughly 14 hours of square and spiral knots.

  3. Finishing

Brushed fringe and a beeswax-treated dowel.
